Google has launched a new feature called 'White Owned Business to its popular Google My Business profile. GMB is a feature of Google that allows you to list your business and get some free publicity. After adding Black, Asian, and LGBTQ-owned businesses tags now it is White people's turn to get a tag.
All white-owned businesses are required to get the tag unless they identify as LGBTQ. When asked for comment a Google rep said that it would hopefully decrease the business the companies got and that all of them would also be downranked in search results. Microsoft and Yelp also added the tag to their software and the Bing search engine.
At publishing time, Google lost 50% of its business and BLM used the tag as a way to identify places to bomb.
