Ron Desantis has banned Beyond and Impossible Meat for underage youth.
"Look, just because the veggies and whatever junk is in the patty identifies as meat doesn't make it meat. The stuff is disgusting and impressionable minds might think is good. Have mercy on any adult who eats it."
Critics of the decision called it cruel and unusual. A spokesperson for PETA said, "This law is harmful. It is as harmful as rewriting a holy text....except the Bible of course."
Defenders of DeSantis said that this would kill more cows which would prevent them from burping.
At publishing time, PETA canceled its Pride in Animals parade for fear of violating the law.
